Scorecard

Ospreys came with a dominant second half performance as they thrashed Lyon by 47-7 at Liberty Stadium on Sunday to secure a quarter-final berth in the ongoing European Challenge Cup tournament.

Lyon started the game positively with a try from number eight Curtis Browning in the 15th minute while fly-half Mike Harris added the conversion. However, that remained their only points in the game.

Things went haywire for the visitors when hooker Ti'i Paulo was sin-binned in the 30th minute during which Ospreys number eight Dan Baker crossed over allowing fly-half Dan Biggar to add the extras.

Ospreys took a five-point lead before half-time after centre Kieron Fonotia strolled past the post but Biggar missed out on the conversion this time. In the closing stages of first half Ospreys also lost Wales international Keelan Giles to injury.

The onslaught from Ospreys continued when wing Hanno Dirksen and flanker James King secured the bonus point through their tries in 41st and 46th minute respectively.

Lyon's chances of bouncing back was further dented when replacement Jerome Porical was yellow-carded in the 49th minute following which Dan Evans, Justin Tipuric and Adam Beard all scored tries while Biggar made overall six conversions in the game to secure a 40-point win for Ospreys.
