Scorecard

Telusa Veainu and Jonny May scored five tries between them as Leicester Tigers got their European Champions Cup campaign back on track with a 54-29 bonus point win over Castres at Welford Road.

After George Ford and Rory Kockott exchanged penalties, the England fly-half kicked another three pointer to take the Tigers to a three point lead.

With England coach Eddie Jones in the stands, the home side showed total dominance in the remainder of the first half with May (15'), Ben Youngs (25') and Veainu (28' and 34') all crossing over while Ford showed great display slotting three conversions and a penalty as Leicester Tigers ended the first half with a score of 35-3.'

The Tigers had concerns when Australian international Matt Toomua left the field with an injury but May (42') and Veainu (46') ensured there is no looking back with a try each in a span of four minutes as the Aviva Premiership club had a lead of 47-8.

A sin-bin to Valentino Mapapalangi in the 51st minute saw Castres score their first try in the game through Alex Tulou but his efforts were negated by Leicester winger Nick Malouf.

A late push from David Smith (65', 71' and 76') helped Castres gain a losing bonus point but overall Leicester dominated the game as they completed a 25 point victory that has taken them to the top of Pool 4.
