Zebre 10 - 41 Scarlets, Parma

Scarlets came with a five-try performance as they trounced Zebre by 10-41 in their Pro 14 encounter in Parma.

This is Scarlets' second bonus point victory in two games as they started their title defence on the right note and top Conference A while Zebre find themselves at the sixth position.

Even though Carlo Canna got Zebree off the mark with a third-minute penalty, a touchdown from Johnny McNicholl with a penalty and a conversion on either side by Rhys Patchell helped Scarlets bounce back to take a seven point lead.

In the 27th minute, Patchell kicked his second successful penalty as the Welsh side headed into half time with a 10 point lead.

Winger Steffan Evans further extended Scarlets' advantage when he crossed over in the 47th minute as the gap widened to 17 points. Their quest for a bonus point proved successful as replacement Paul Asquith and lock Tadhg Beirne went past the line in the 63rd and 69th minute respectively and six minutes later their fifth and final try came through Aled Davies.

Even though Mattia Bellini provided some respite for Zebre when he strolled past the post in the 78th minute, Zebre succumbed to a massive 31 point defeat.

Scarlets will next visit Belfast to take on Ulster on Friday while Zebre and Cheetahs will face each other in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
