Saracens, Harlequins emerge victorious in first leg of Tyrrells Premier 15s semi-finals

Saracens Women ran a 10-try riot as they trounced Gloucester-Hartpury Women 0-62 while Harlequins Ladies managed to overcome Wasps FC Ladies 19-25 in the first leg of the Tyrrells Premier 15s semi-finals.

Table toppers Saracens, who dominated the league stage with 15 wins from 18 games dominated the proceedings against Gloucester as Marlie Packer, Helena Rowland, Samantha Martinez Gion and Charlotte Clapp scored a try apiece in the first 20 minutes. The fifth try came from Bryony Cleall as Saracens headed into the break with a 0-33 lead. With Gloucester failing to add a single point, Saracens further dominated the second half with five more tries coming from Hannah Botterman, Packer, Garnet Mackinder (2) and Poppy Cleall adding further tries to complete a resounding victory.

Wasps FC Ladies 19 - 25 Harlequins Ladies

A late touchdown from Fiona Pocock proved vital as Harlequins defeated Wasps 19-25 in the first-leg semi-final. Wasps got off to a promising start when Vicki Jackson offloaded to Liz Crake, who dotted her first try of the season. However, Harlequins responded back four minutes later with Abbie Scott crashing past the corner and heroics from Deborah McCormack meant the visitors had a 7-10 lead and Natasha Bradshaw's touchdown just before the break made it 7-17.

Wasps gathered momentum in the second half with Louise Dodd and Abby Dow scoring tries as they went on to take a 19-17 lead but Ellie Green's penalty restored one point lead for Harlequins and Pocock with a minute to go helped them complete a six-point victory.
