Scotland international Ryan Grant has confirmed he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the ongoing season.

The loosehead prop started his professional rugby career with Celtic League side Border Reivers in 2005 and enjoyed a couple of stints each with Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors that was separated by his brief association with Worcester Warriors in 2017.

His debut for Scotland came in 2012 against Australia and has gone on to play 25 Tests for the Dark Blues with his last appearance coming during the 2015 World Cup encounter against United States of America.

"Now is the right time to hang up my boots for both my body and my mind," he told Warriors TV.

"It was always an honour to represent my country. My first cap, beating Australia in Australia was pretty special and any Six Nations win was an amazing feeling.

"I am so embedded in this Glasgow Warriors, so is my family. I've invested so much of my time and my body in Glasgow that I'll always be a supporter."
