Sale Sharks have announced the signing of Romanian international Alexandru Tarus ahead of the upcoming season.

The 27-year-old has signed a two year deal with the Aviva Premiership club and will make a shift from Pro2 side Beziers.

After making his international debut for Romania against Argentina in June 2013, Tarus has gone on to play 21 Tests including the 2015 World Cup where he played two games as a replacement.

Tarus has also represented Romania Under-20 team in the Junior World Cup in 2009.

Saracens rugby director Steve Diamond is confident that Tarus' addition will benefit the AJ Bell Stadium outfit.

"Alexandru is a great signing for us, he can play on both sides of the scrum although he is a specialist Tighthead. He is a big lad at 1.85m, weighing 125kg’s and he will, I am sure fit perfectly at Sharks," said Diamond.

Tarus said he is looking forward to be part of the Aviva Premiership side.

"This is a great opportunity for me to play in the Premiership. I know Vadim Cobilas well and he told me what a great club Sale Sharks are to play for.”
