Gough retired from professional rugby at the end of last season with Newport Gwent Dragons and he has experience of beating England in big games.

The Panteg-born lock was part of the 2008 Grand Slam winning side that recorded Wales’ first win at Twickenham in 20 years.

Speaking ahead of the event, held at an old stomping ground of the former Dragon, Gough admitted his excitement at returning to Rodney Parade.

"I’m looking forward to going back to place where I spent five great years for this event in aid of Hire a Hero, a charity that I am proud to be a Patron," he said.

"World Cup fever will be taking hold just two days before Wales play England so this is great timing to do an event of this kind, my first for the charity.

"I encourage all from within the Welsh rugby community to support this event which will raise funds for a great cause."
