Toulouse lock Richie Gray has been ruled out of Scotland's upcoming summer tour following a hip injury.

The 28-year-old will continue his rehabilitation with the French club Toulouse and is unlikely to be replaced in the squad with Gregor Townsend already having the services of Lewis Carmichael, Grant Gilchrist, Ben Toolis and Tim Swinson.

Meanwhile, Alex Dunbar will also miss the tour after he sustained a hamstring injury while training with Glasgow Warriors and was replaced by Edinburgh's Mark Bennett.

Scotland will kick-start their summer tour against Canada in Edmonton on 9th June following which they head to Houston and Resistencia to take on United States of America and Argentina respectively on 16th and 23rd June.
