The Red Roses ran in eight tries to beat Canada 49-12 at the Twickenham Stoop in the second Old Mutual Wealth Series Test match to secure a series victory with a Test to spare.

Player of the match Rachael Burford and Ellie Kildunne both crossed twice as Heather Kerr, Danielle Waterman, Hannah Botterman and Jo Brown crossed over for a try each.

England took an impressive 20-0 lead by the half-time whistle and furthermore stopped the visitors from crossing until the 74th minute.

Janna Slevinsky and Mckinley Hunt's late tries in the last action of the match saved some embarrassment for the visiting team.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday in the final game of the series at Twickenham Stadium as the home team is now looking for a complete series whitewash.
