South Africa prop Trevor Nyakane will miss his team's decisive third and final Test against Ireland on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Nyakane, who was named in the reserve for the second Test at the Emirates Airline Park came into action in the 51st minute replacing Tendai Mtawarira.

The Springboks confirmed that the 27-year-old has sustained an ankle injury which will keep him out of action for the third Tests and a replacement will be named later in the week.

Apart from Nyakane, South Africa will also miss the services of Duane Vermeulen and Lood de Jager, who are nursing elbow and calf injuries respectively.

The three-match series is levelled at 1-1 with one more game to go after South Africa made an incredible fightback at Emirates Airline Park to script a 32-26 win over Ireland despite being 3-19 down at half-time.
