Scorecard

Steve Tandy's Ospreys thumped Newcastle Falcons in a rousing 45-0 seven-try victory at the Liberty Stadium during the 2016-17 European Rugby Challenge Cup match on Friday.

Dean Richards's Premiership side drew a blank on the scorecard as the hosts cruised home to a comfortable win.

Right-wing Keelan Giles (61, 72) scored a double, while fly-half Dan Biggar (20), scrum-half Rhys Webb (25), inside-centre Ashley Beck (34), hooker Scott Baldwin (54) and openside-flanker Justin Tipuric (55) crossed over the try line for the Ospreys.

Biggar managed to convert five out of seven tries for the hosts to take his overall haul for the match to 15 points.

The bonus-point win has allowed the Welsh club to get off to a copybook start as they now travel to Vénissieux to face Lyon at the Matmut Stadium, while the Falcons will host Grenoble at the Kingston Park stadium.
