Newcastle have confirmed the signing of England sevens international scrum-half Sam Egerton, who will join the club ahead of next season.
The 24-year-old previously played for Harlequins and Yorkshire Carnegie after representing Oxford in four Varsity-winning sides.
"Sam is an exceptional player," Newcastle rugby director Dean Richards said after news of the signing was revealed.
"He boasts strong decision-making ability, has a good break on him and knows his way to the line.
"He will be a good addition to our squad, which already has a successful former England sevens player in the form of Marcus Watson."
Egerton joins Leicester wing Vereneki Goneva and Jersey prop Sam Lockwood in recently signing for the Falcons.
