Scorecard

Tyler Bleyendaal contributed with 21 points as Munster came up with a clinical performance against Toulouse to win the game by 41-16 at Thomond Park on Saturday and book a berth in the European Champions Cup semi-final.

Toulouse suffered early setback when Francois Cros was sin-binned in the second minute and it proved costly as John Ryan crossed over for Munster with Bleyendaal adding a conversion and a penalty to claim a 10 point lead.

After Jean-Marc Doussain and Bleyendaal exchanged penalties, the Toulouse number 10 added two more three pointers. At half time, Munster had a slender lead of 13-9.

Munster showed a lot of intent in the second half after Ireland international CJ Stander rumbled past the post in the 47th minute and Bleyendaal scored a penalty each on either side to increase the lead to 15 points.

Toulouse fought back through a try from Paul Perez and the gap was down to eight points as the game entered the final 10 minutes. This is when Munster switched gears with Darren Sweetnam and Andrew Conway strolling past the post while Bleyendaal converted both the tries and added a penalty as well to seal a 25 point victory for Munster and more importantly a berth in the semi-final.
