Munster made it two European Champions Cup wins out of two by keeping Saracens scoreless in the second half of a 14-3 win at Thomond Park.

After coming from behind to snatch a last-gasp win at Sale last week, this time they never let Saracens get ahead in a clash between two of last year's semi-finalists.

After a tense first half ended 3-3, Dave Kilcoyne's 60th-minute try went a long way towards sealing four points for Munster.

Ian Keatley, Munster's hero eight days ago, had a poor night with the boot and his 26th-minute penalty, equalised by Owen Farrell's kick at goal, was all that was to a show for an opening half without a single clean line break.

The game opened up somewhat in the second half, particularly after Saracens replacement prop Rhys Gill was sent to the sin-bin for tipping CJ Stander while clearing out a ruck in the 51st minute.

Keatley landed a penalty in the 53rd minute to put Munster back in front and they did not look back.

Munster wing Andrew Conway had a try disallowed before replacement prop Kilcoyne crashed over and although Keatley missed the conversion, he did land a late drop goal to make the points secure.

The victory leaves Munster on eight points in Pool Two, ahead of Saracens (four), Sale (one) and Clermont Auvergne (one).

Sale and Clermont meet at Stade Marcel-Michelin on Sunday.
