England international Harlequins could face time on the sidelines as he faces an anxious wait after undergoing a scan on his ankle.

The fullback sustained the injury during the Aviva Premiership encounter against Wasps at Ricoh Arena which his team went on to win 21-24 and it further aggravated during the clash against Leicester Tigers last weekend.

Brown underwent a scan on Wednesday and is now awaiting results ahead of England's autumn international campaign that begins on 11th November when Australia visit Twickenham.

Harlequins rugby director John Kingston expressed concern on Brown's situation and insisted that they will take a call on the 32-year-old once the scan results are out.

"Mike is not quite right. He has been away with England for two or three days and they have done some treatment on it," Kingston said.

"After the Leicester game he left in a (protective) boot and it was pretty swollen. On Saturday we'll have a lot more information about whether he could play next weekend."
