Exeter Chiefs 52-5 Wasps, Sandy Park
Wing Michele Campagnaro scored hat-trick tries as Exeter Chiefs trounced Wasps with a 52-5 triumph in their Anglo-Welsh Cup clash at Sandy Park on Saturday.
Campagnaro (2', 15'), Joe Simmonds (10'), Sam Simmonds (26') and Stu Townsend (32') were the try scorers in the first half. Fly-half Joe converted four of the tries as Exeter Chiefs raced to a 33 points in the first half.
Lock Will Rowlands cross over in the fifth minute remained the only points for Wasps in the entire game as they trailed by 28 points after the first 40 minutes.
There was no respite whatsoever for the visitors in the second half as Shaun Malton (44'), Campagnaro (53') and fullback Lachie Turner (79') strolled past the post to take Exeter Chiefs to 52 points.
The 47-point victory has taken Exeter Chiefs to the top of Pool 2 while Wasps are placed second in Pool 3.
