Scrum-half Michael Dowsett has signed a full-time contract with the Aviva Premiership club Worcester Warriors.

The 25-year-old signed a short-term contract with the Sixways outfit in November but has earned himself a permanent deal following his impressive run.

Sydney born Dowsett also has the experience of playing for Brumbies, Canberra Vikings, New South Wales Country Eagles and Southland before his association with Worcester Warriors.

Worcester Warriors rugby director Gary Gold had high praise for Dowsett's performance during his short stint with the club.

"Michael has shown tremendous professionalism since joining the club," said Gold.

"He provides important competition in the half-back position and he's a hungry, enthusiastic individual who drives standards across the board."

Dowsett said he is looking forward to an extended stint with Worcester Warriors.

"I've enjoyed my short time in Worcester so far and I'm looking forward to the future," said Dowsett.

"Hopefully I can take my opportunities when they come along and help the team push on."
