Marseille's Stade Velodrome has been confirmed as the venue for the European Rugby finals of the 2020 edition.

Velodrome which is a home to football club Marseille has a capacity over 67,000 and has hosted games involving Toulon in the past.

The stadium also hosted 2010 European Challenge Cup final where Toulon were beaten by Cardiff Blues and was one of the venue when France hosted the 2007 World Cup.

Director of European Professional Club Rugby Vincent Gaillard is confident that the spectators will relish the opportunity to witness the European finals at Stade Velodrome.

"While France is a traditional stronghold of the great game of rugby, a European finals weekend in the city of Marseille will be a whole new experience both for local fans and for our loyal supporters who travel in their tens of thousands year after year"

The 2020 edition will also mark 25 years of the competition while the 2019 edition final will be held in Newcastle.
