Queensland Reds have confirmed that lock Lukhan Tui has penned a new deal with the Super Rugby club that will keep him with the Brisbane outfit until 2020.

Tui made his professional rugby debut for Randwick in 2014 and joined Reds on a three-year deal in 2015 with his Super Rugby debut coming in April 2016. He has also represented Australia Under 20 in the 2015 World Junior Championship.

His success with Reds also saw him make his debut for the Wallabies last year during the Test against South Africa.

"I’m really excited for what we’re building here at the Reds but also the Wallabies and I just want to be part of that," he told Rugby Australia's official website.

"It was great to get my first taste of Test footy last year but it just makes me want to play more games for Australia."

Meanwhile, Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika is delighted with the news of the 21-year-old remaining in Australian province and is hopeful of establishing himself at the international arena.

"Lukhan is a very exciting young player and has worked extremely hard to establish himself firstly with the Reds and now the Wallabies," Cheika said.

"We are continuing to build depth in the second row around the country and Lukhan knows he has to keep knuckling down to improve his game.

"It’s great to see our young lads commit to long-term deals and show how much they want to contribute to rugby in this country."
