Wales international Ross Moriarty is among the five players, who have been nominated for the Rugby Players Association Young Player of the Year.

Moriarty made his debut for Wales in August 2015 and has played 17 Tests since then. He also had an impressive outing for Wales in the recently concluded Six Nations tournament and has been part of Aviva Premiership side Gloucester since 2012.

Bath's Zach Mercer, Leicester Tiger's Ellis Genge, Saracens' Alex Lozowksi and Harlequins' Joe Marchant are the other list of nominees, who will compete with Moriarty for the award which will be voted by the players.

Moriarty thanked everyone for the support handed over to him and is hoping to finish the year on a high.

"I'm really thankful for all the players who have voted for me, there's no better feeling in rugby than to have the support of your peers," said Moriarty to Gloucester Rugby's official website.

"I have enjoyed my rugby this season both at club and international level, it's been a great experience and I'm looking forward to a big finish to the year."

Meanwhile, England internationals Owen Farrell and Elliot Daly along with Christian Wade, Jimmy Gopperth and Louis Picamoles have been nominated for Rugby Players' Association players' player of the year award.
