Lions ran a 14 try riot as they thrashed Sunwolves 94-7 in their Super Rugby encounter at Emirates Airlines Park on Saturday.

Ross Cronje (5'), Jaco Kriel (10'), Kwagga Smith (19' and 26') and Elton Jantjies (38') were the try scorers in the first half for Lions with the fly half converting all five of it as they raced to a 35 point lead at half time.

Armand van der Merwe (44'), Ruan Combrinck (51' and 58') and Kriel (53') added further tries with Jantjies kicking two conversions as Lions added 59 unanswered points.

Replacement Uwe Helu finally managed to get Sunwolves off the mark with a 63rd minute try but further cross overs from Courtnall Skosan (65'), Faf de Klerk (70'), Sylvian Mahuza (72'), Ruan Ackermann (77') and Combrinch (80') completed a massive 87 point win for Lions.

Lions, who have 13 wins from 14 games continue to top Africa 2 Conference while Sunwolves languish at the bottom in Africa 1 Group.
