New Zealand international Liam Messam will join Toulon next season after signing a two-year contract with the French club.

Messam, who enjoyed a couple of stints with the Chiefs starting from 2006 will head to the Top 14 competition at the end of the upcoming season of Super Rugby.

Messam captained the New Zealand Sevens Team to IRB Sevens World Series title win in 2004 and also was part of the New Zealand sevens squads that won gold in the 2006 and 2010 Common Wealth Games.

He has 43-Test appearances for New Zealand after making his debut in 2012 but he last featured during the 2015 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Toulon President Mourad Boudjellal had indicated that the club will announce an international level player in the next 48 hours as a replacement for South Africa's Duane Vermeulen and speculations are on the rise that the latest signing is all likely to be All Blacks' Jerome Kaino.
