Ulster 23 - 22 Benetton Treviso, Kingspan Stadium

Replacement Andrew Trimble scored the decisive try in the closing stage as Ulster came from behind to register a 23-22 win over Benetton Treviso at Kingspan Stadium on Friday.

The game started 10 minutes late as Benetton's bus was involved in a minor accident but they started the game really well as back to back penalties from Tommaso Allan took them to a 0-6 lead at the end of 12 minutes.

Ulster's response came in the 17th minute when Tommy Bowe went past the line and a conversion from John Cooney took them to a one point lead. Cooney added two more penalties to stretch Ulster's lead to seven points with the second three pointer coming after a sin-bin to Benetton's Andrea Bronzini.

Penalties on either side of half time by Allan kept Benetton in the game as the gap between the two teams came down to one point following which number eight Robert Barbieri capitalised on a poor pass by Schalk van der Merwe to go past the line.

With Marty Banks kicking his first penalty in the 72nd minute, Benetton Treviso had a comfortable six point lead but Trimble's late heroics followed by a successful conversion from Christian Leali'ifano helped Ulster steal a one point victory.

Ulster are currently third in Conference B which also has Benetton Treviso at five.
