Wales international George North has been ruled out of the upcoming autumn internationals for his team following a knee injury that he sustained during his stint with Northampton Saints.

North sustained the blow during the first half of the European Champions Cup opener against Saracens at Franklin's Gardens last weekend and will need six to eight weeks of recovery period as confirmed by a statement released by the Northampton Saints.

"George North suffered a sprain to his posterior cruciate ligament against Saracens which will require 6-8 weeks rehabilitation," read the statement.

The 25-year-old initially suffered the injury during a tackle made by Saracens centre Brad Barritt and soon left the field despite receiving treatment from the club's medical team.

North, whose career has been marred by a series of concussions, will now miss the games against Australia, Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa for Warren Gatland's men that begins on 11th November at Millennium Stadium.
