Centre Joe Marchant has penned a new contract with the Aviva Premiership club Harlequins.

The 20-year-old joined Quins in 2014 and has been a part of England Under 18 and Under 20 teams previously while also working with the England senior squad in 2016.

Marchant was also expected to be part of the Eddie Jones' squad for the recently concluded Argentina before a toe injury dented his hopes of featuring for the Six Nations champions.

Harlequins rugby director John Kingston is delighted with the news on Marchant's contract extension.

"Joe is an exceptional young talent who had a fantastic first full season in the Premiership last year," said Kingston to Harlequins' official website.

"I am certain that many aspiring English clubs would have loved to secure his services and therefore it is a real statement of intent that we have finalised a lengthy contract extension with him."

Harlequins managed to finish sixth in the previous season of Aviva Premiership with 11 wins from 22 games.
