Jean-Luc du Preez doubtful for remainder of Super Rugby season

Sharks flanker Jean-Luc du Preez is doubtful for the remainder of the Super Rugby season following an injury.

The 22-year-old went off the field in the fifth minute of the game against Lions last weekend at Kings Park Stadium and underwent scans at the end of the game revealing an MCL strain.

The injury couldn't have come at the worst time for Sharks as du Preez was an instrumental part of the team.

However, there will be some relief for the side as hooker Akker van der Merwe has made sufficient recovery from a shoulder injury that he sustained in last weekend's game.

Sharks are currently positioned third in the South African Conference with six wins from 14 games and are set to face Stormers next on 7th July.
