Jason Woodward is all set to make his debut in the Aviva Premiership after signing a new contract with Bristol.

Woodward was a part of the 2016 Super Rugby winning Hurricanes team while he has also represented the Melbourne Rebels and New Zealand Under-20 teams in the past.

The 26-year-old, who will be joining the club in November, said he wants to test himself in a "new environment" after clinching the Super Rugby title with the Hurricanes last season.

"I felt it was the right time for me to come and experience playing in a new environment .

"To sign off from my time at the Hurricanes with a Super Rugby title was a fitting way to finish, and now I'm excited about testing myself against quality opposition in the top flight in England."

Bristol rugby director Andy Robinson believes Woodward's all-round skill will benefit the club and is hoping for the fullback to have a memorable outing in his Aviva Premiership debut.

"Jason is an excellent acquisition for Bristol Rugby, and a player who has consistently impressed in the Super Rugby competition," Bristol rugby director Andy Robinson told the Aviva Premiership club's official website.

"He's quick, solid under the high ball and has a strong kicking game.

"For Jason, this is a fresh challenge for him and we know he will be determined to make his mark in the Aviva Premiership."
