Scorecard

Jaguares scored three tries in the final quarter as they managed to defeat Sunwolves by 44-39 in a thrilling encounter at Estadio Jose Amalfitani on Saturday.

It took Sunwolves just one minute to get off the mark with Will Tupou crossing over and Yu Tamura adding a conversion. However, Jaguares bounced back with a try from Leonardo Senatore while Juan Martin Hernandez added a conversion and a penalty on either side to claim a slender three point lead.

Shota Emi brought Sunwolves back into the lead but was negated by a touchdown from Emiliano Boffelli but once again the visitors upped the ante through Tamura, who scored two penalties and followed it with a converted try as well to help them claim a 10 point lead.

However, just at the stroke of half time, Sunwolves suffered a setback with a sin bin to Sam Wykes that also resulted in a penalty try to Jaguares as they reduced the gap to five points.

Agustin Creevy helped Jaguares level the scores with a try in the 51st minute but a second converted try from Tamura followed by Sam Wykes' 59th minute try meant Sunwolves were leading 25-39 at the end of the third quarter.

This is when Jaguares took the game on its head as Matias Moroni and Matias Alemanno went past the line along with a second try from Creevy to complete a thrilling five point victory.

Sunwolves continue to languish at the bottom of Africa 1 Conference while Jaguares are positioned third in Africa 2 Conference.
