England 28-14 Barbarians, Twickenham Stadium
Scorecard

England started their preparations for the Argentina tour on a right note as they went on to defeat Barbarians by 28-14 at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday.

However, the victory was not without causalities as Alex Lozowski and Sam Underhill were forced off the field with shoulder injuries, making them doubtful for the summer tour.

England included eight uncapped players in their team. In the 14th minute of the game, Lozowski had to leave the field due to injury and was replaced by Mike Haley. Two minutes later, Earle, another uncapped player opened England's account with a try while George Ford added the conversion.

Sam James kicked his first penalty in the 30th minute following which the injury woe continued for Eddie Jones with Underhill leaving the field. England went into half-time with a 13-0 lead after James kicked his second penalty.

Wallabies international Adam Ashley-Cooper opened Barbarians account when he crossed over at the start of the second half while Ian Madigan responded with a conversion to reduce the gap to six points. Ford's first penalty came in the 47th minute as England increased their lead to nine points.

A 55th minute sin-bin to Mikheil Nariashvili hampered Barbarians' progress in the game and 12 minutes later when the visitors returned back to their full strength, Nick Isiekwe strolled past the post for England and Ford's conversion made it 23-7 in favour of the hosts.

Even though, a 76th minute try from replacement Joe Tekori gave a glimmer of hope for Barbarians, Danny Care responded back with a touchdown in the final minute to seal a 28-14 victory for England.
