Blues 12-22 Hurricanes, Eden Park
Scorecard

Hurricanes have stretched their winning streak to eight over the Blues as they completed a 12-22 victory in their Super Rugby encounter at Eden Park on Friday.

This is Hurricanes' ninth win from 12 games as they consolidated their second position in the New Zealand Conference while Blues are languishing at the bottom.

Sam Nock provided a head start for the Blues with a 10th minute try and Harry Plummer converted it to make it 7-0 but Ben Lam touched down in the 23rd minute to lead Hurricanes' response while conversion from Beauden Barrett levelled the scores 7-7.

The visitors doubled their tally by the 32nd minute when Jordie Barrett strolled over the line and Beauden improved it as the teams went into the break with a 7-14 scoreline.

As the second half kicked-off, Hurricanes suffered a setback with a sin-bin to Jeff Toomaga-Allen in the 53rd minute. Dalton Papali'i made use of the numerical advantage with a touchdown in the 60th minute for an unconverted try but his efforts were negated by a try from Beauden in the 67th minute.

Any chance of a Blues' comeback was put off and instead, Jordie kicked a 75th minute penalty to complete a 12-22 win for Hurricanes.
