Harlequins and London Irish record comfortable victories

 

Harlequins ran in eight tries as they made it three wins from three with a comfortable 50-10 European Rugby Challenge Cup Pool 3 victory over Calvisano.

Archie White, Mark Lambert, Jack Clifford, Luke Wallace and James Chisholm went over for first-half tries and Ben Botica added two conversions as Conor O'Shea's side took a 29-3 lead into the interval, with Filippo Buscema replying with a penalty.

Matthew Hopper crossed 15 minutes into the second half and Botica added a third conversion before the hosts got their only try through flanker Mata Mbanda and Matteo Minozzi converted.

Kyle Sinckler and Charlie Walker then added to Quins' substantial try tally with Botica converting both.

Meanwhile, Andrew Fenby scored a hat-trick of tries as London Irish recorded a second win of their Pool 5 campaign with a 38-6 win over Edinburgh.

Greig Tonks kicked the Scots into an early 6-0 lead with a pair of penalties but two quickfire tries from Fenby and a conversion from Shane Geraghty put the Exiles 12-6 to the good.

And further scores from Alex Lewington, Johnny Williams, Asaeli Tikoirotuma and Fenby made sure of the bonus point and victory.

Dorian Jones scored a try and added four penalties to lead Newport Gwent Dragons to a 22-0 Pool 2 triumph over Pau.

Jones kicked two penalties before Sarel Pretorius went over for the first try of the afternoon in the 26th minute.

Jones added another two penalties early in the second half before he made sure of victory himself with a 56th-minute try.

In Pool 1, Hooker Nazir Gasanov scored the only try of the game as Russian outfit Enisei-STM recorded their first ever European win with a 10-7 Pool 1 win over French heavyweights Brive.
