Former England international Graham Rowntree will join Georgia as their new forwards coach until the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

Rowntree has played for England 54 times and featured for British and Irish Lions in three Tests during their 2005 tour of New Zealand. He also made two World Cup appearances for the red rose team.

The 47-year-old also made close to 400 appearances for his club Leicester Tigers in a stellar 17-year career that lasted between 1990 and 2007.

Following his retirement, he joined Leicester Tigers as an assistant coach and later also joined England, British and Irish Lions and recently Harlequins as a forwards coach.

Georgia, who are currently ranked 13th in the World Rugby Rankings will face Italy and Tonga in their November series and will line up against Australia, Wales, Fiji and Uruguay in the 2019 World Cup where they are clubbed in Pool D.
