Gloucester Rugby has confirmed that lock Andrew Davidson will join the Gallagher Premiership club ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Davidson will join the Cherry and Whites next summer after being part of Edinburgh in the 2020/21 season. His professional career debut started with Glasgow Warriors and played for Newcastle Falcons before rejoining the Scotstoun based club in the 2019/20 season for a second stint.

The 24-year-old also had represented Scotland at Under 16, Under 18 and Under 20 levels and is a product of Scottish Rugby Academy.

Confirming the news, Gloucester's Chief Operating Officer Alex Brown said Davidson's addition will strengthen the squad further.

“Andrew is a towering lock and a very powerful presence on the pitch. His signing adds to the strength we have in our pack for next season.

“He’s also still only 24 and has plenty of rugby ahead of him as we build our squad for the longer term under the stewardship of George.”

Gloucester currently are languishing at the bottom of the Gallagher Premiership table with a solitary win from five games.
