Scorecard

Gloucester Rugby continued their unbeaten run in the European Challenge Cup tournament as they defeated La Rochelle by 35-14 at Kingsholm Stadium on Thursday.

Even though it was La Rochelle, who got going with an eighth minute try from flanker Kevin Gourdon and a conversion from fly-half Zack Holmes, Gloucester Rugby dominated the remaining of the first half with three tries in it.

Centre Mark Atkinson (19'), prop Josh Hohneck (28') and wing Ollie Thorley (34') strolled across the post while scrum-half Greig Laidlaw added two conversions and a penalty to ensure Gloucester Rugby went into half-time with a 15 point lead.

Wing David Raikuna helped La Rochelle make some recovery with a 43rd minute try while a conversion from Holmes reduced the gap to 10 points. But that was the only success the visitors had in the second half.

After a couple of penalty from Laidlaw, centre Matt Scott crossed over at the closing stage and the Scotland captain added another successful conversion to secure a 21-point win for Gloucester, who are yet to taste a defeat in this season of European Challenge Cup.

Gloucester top Pool 1 table with 15 points from three matches while La Rochelle are placed second with 10 points.
