Saracens back-row George Kruis' participation in England's Six Nations title defence is under doubt following his latest knee injury.

The 26-year-old was initially given clearance for the Six Nations opener against France at Twickenham after recovering from a cheekbone fracture.

However, he was forced to miss the training on Tuesday following discomfort in knee which not only creates doubt on his participation against Guy Noves' men but also for the rest of the tournament.

England coach Eddie Jones said they are awaiting a report from a specialist before a decision is taken on Kruis.

"We'll have to wait and see what the specialist's prognosis is, but we're not ruling him out of the RBS 6 Nations at this stage," said Jones.
