Scorecard

Scotland failed to finish the summer tour unbeaten after facing a 27-22 defeat against Fiji in Suva on Saturday.

A rare try from Ross Ford in his record-breaking 110th appearance was not enough as 10th-ranked Fiji upset fifth-ranked Scotland.

The Scots won the try count by three to two but poor discipline allowed Fiji fly-half Ben Volavola to score five crucial penalties which helped them bridge the gap of a try's deficit.

Peceli Yato (37) and Henry Seniloli (62) scored tries for the hosts whereas Ross Ford (30), Ruaridh Jackson (53) and
Fraser Brown (72) scored tries for the visitors.

Jackson managed to convert the first two tries apart from slotting a penalty on the 61st minute.

The 5-point loss meant a first defeat for Gregor Townsend as Scotland head coach.

Fiji will now take immense confidence into next month's Pacific Nations Cup which also acts as a qualifying series for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
