England U18 continue winning momentum against Scotland

England U18 continued their winning momentum this season as they secured their second successive victory by defeating Scotland U18 31-17at Preston Grasshoppers RFC on Sunday.

The win comes a week after they trounced France 43-14 at Aylesbury RFC as they gear up for the preparations for the U18 International Series.

Wasps second row Joe Tunney got England off the mark with an early try but his counter part Harry Butler responded back with a try of his own to bring Scotland into a two point lead at the end of the first quarter.

The first half was evenly contested but Gloucester flanker Aaron Hinkley helped England reclaim the lead when he crossed over at the stroke of half time by which the scoreline was 12-7 in favour of hosts.

England showed much better intent in the second half with fly-half Tom Hardwick and centre Cameron Redpath strolling past the post early.

Even though Scotland number 10 Ross Thompson gave some hope for the visitors with his touchdown, Tom Seabrook capped off another fantastic game for England as they sealed a 14-point victory.

England will now take on Wales U18 next at Ebbw Vale RFC on 26th March before they head for the International series which includes clash against Canada, Ireland and Scotland.
