England smash records following 61-21 win over Scotland

England's 61-21 victory against Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday not only allowed them to retain the Six Nations title but also helped them match or break few records as well.

LONGEST WINNING RUN (TIER ONE COUNTRIES)

All-conquering New Zealand won 18 games in a row between August 2015 and October 2016, along the way winning both the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 Rugby Championship, before losing to Ireland in Chicago.

England's momentum is uninterrupted since October 2015's win over Uruguay and beating Scotland equals the All Blacks' record. Another win in Ireland next week would secure a new mark, alongside a second straight Six Nations Grand Slam.

Only tier two nation Cyprus remain ahead of Jones' side in the all-time charts. The Mediterranean side won 24 games in a row from November 2008's win over Azerbaijan to November 2014 against Andorra.

LONGEST WINNING RUN IN SIX NATIONS HISTORY

England already held the record of 10 straight wins in the Six Nations or its predecessors and have now reached 11 - four this season, last year's Grand Slam and wins over Scotland and France to round out the 2015 campaign.

They have hit double figures twice before, but the mark had remained unmatched by any country for more than 90 years prior to England beating Italy on February 26.

It had stood since the very start of the Home Nations Championship, and England's first 10 games from 1882 to 1886, while they equalled that mark between 1922 and 1925.

ENGLAND'S RECORD HOME WINNING RUN IN THE SIX NATIONS

A 14th straight Twickenham success in the tournament matches the mark set between February 1998, against Wales, and March 2003, against Scotland. The current run stretches back to England's win over Ireland on St Patrick's Day in 2012.

The Dublin trip provides the opportunity to move joint second in the international list, with Wales winning 15 in a row at home between 1975 and 1982 and France doing likewise from 1982 to 1989.

Wales recorded the only longer sequence by winning their first 21 home games of the 20th century, a run which was finally ended in January 1913 by England.
