Argentina 25-35 England, Santa Fe
Scorecard

Charlie Ewels, Piers Francis and Will Collier scored their first international tries as England completed a 25-35 win over Argentina in the second Test in Santa Fe on Saturday to wrap up the series 2-0.

Dylan Hartley became the third most capped player for England as he made his 86th appearance for the red rose team. The Pumas pushed the young England side all the way as the scores were levelled at the end of the third quarter. However, the Six Nations champions managed to dominate the final quarter to complete the 10 point victory.

Mike Brown was instrumental in setting up a couple of tries for England while Chris Robshaw looked impressive on his return from injury as well. Ewels try in the fourth minute set the tone for England and George Ford followed it with a conversion to make it 0-7.

However, two minutes later, the scores were levelled with Joaquin Tuculet crossing over for the hosts and Nicolas Sanchez added the extras.

After Ford kicked his first penalty in the 10th minute, a double penalty kick from Sanchez, got Argentina off to a three point lead for the first time in the game.

Francis, who was making his first start for England, made full use of the pass from Brown to cross over in the 30th minute just after Ford kicked his second penalty as the visitors claimed a 13-18 lead at half time.

Argentina showed more intent in the second half, as Pablo Matera's try in the 51st minute allowed Pumas to level the scores. Sanchez missed out on the conversion though.

The momentum kept on swinging as Danny Care went past the line for Eddie Jones' team and Ford's conversion restored a seven point lead but his efforts were once again negated through a try from Emiliano Boffelli and a conversion from Sanchez as the scores once again remained levelled at 25-25 at the end of the third quarter.

Just as the game headed for a tight finish, Collier, who came off the bench in the 59th minute provided breathing space for England when he went past the line in the 64th minute and the experienced Ford kicked the extras and also followed it with a drop goal in the 73rd minute to complete a 35-25 breathtaking win for the red rose team.
