Northampton Saints came up with a eight try performance as they trounced Dragons 48-14 in their European Rugby Challenge Cup clash at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.

Northampton now are positioned second in Pool 1 with Dragons are placed third with five points.

Centre Luther Burrell, Fijian second-row forward Api Ratuniyarawa and hooker James Fish all went in for tries with Dan Biggar adding two conversions as despite a sin-bin to Taqele Naiyaravoro in the 34th minute as they raced to a 19-0 lead.

Even though Adam Warren got Dragons off the mark in the 43rd minute further tries from Burrell (46'), Naiyaravoro (51' and 57'), Alex Mitchell (53') and Ollie Sleightholme (80') raised the home side's tally to 48 points.

Even though Nic Cudd touched down for the visitors in the 73rd minute the Premiership side completely dominated the Saturday's encounter with a 34-point victory to boost their chances of play-off.
