Northampton Saints captain Dylan Hartley expressed confidence on his team to return back to winning ways after experiencing a series of defeats.

The Saints were at the top of the Aviva Premiership table at the end of September but have suffered five consecutive defeats including the recent most 22-24 loss to Newcastle Falcons that has pushed them down to the 10th position.

The team's only victory in the last nine games spread across all the competitions came in the Anglo-Welsh Cup clash against Dragons but Hartley, who recently returned to the club from England duty is confident of a turnaround.

"We're in a hole and the only way is to look up," Hartley told BBC Radio Northampton.

"We've got to climb out, we've got to find a way and when that victory comes it's going to be a sweet one.

"I wholeheartedly believe in the squad, fully. We've got the people, I won't question the guys' commitment."

Northampton Saints will line-up against Ospreys next in home and away encounters in the European Champions Cup tournament before hosting Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership on 23rd November.
