Wales' preparations for their World Cup pool A clash with Australia on Saturday received a royal seal of approval when they were presented with their shirts by the Duke of Cambridge.

They were visited at their hotel in Surrey by the Duke of Cambridge, who is Royal Vice Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.

The second in line to the throne presented the shirts before the WRU tweeted a group picture of him alongside forwards Paul James and Ross Moriarty.

"Huge honour for squad to receive their match jerseys from HRH The Duke of Cambridge this afternoon @KensingtonRoyal" the WRU tweeted.

Wales will finish on top of the pool if they beat Australia at Twickenham and earn a quarter-final against either Japan or Scotland.

Losing the match would see them face 1995 and 2007 World Cup winners South Africa in the last eight.

The Duke of Cambridge is not the first high-profile visitor to the Wales camp so far in the tournament.

Earlier on, singer Tom Jones presented the team with their shirts and former undefeated boxing world champion Joe Calzaghe has also spent time with them.
