The All Blacks once again came up with a dominant performance as they trounced the Wallabies by 42-8 in the opening game of the Rugby Championship at ANZ Stadium on Saturday.

Bernard Foley started the proceedings well for Australia as he kicked a successful penalty in the third minute to take a 3-0 lead for the team. However, that was the only success Michael Cheika's men could manage in the first half as the All Blacks were all over the home team for the remainder of the game.

In the fifth minute, Kieran Read went past Dane Haylett-Petty to allow centre Ryan Crotty score the first try and fly-half Beauden Barrett added the extras and two other penalties in the next 15 minutes to take the lead to 13-3.

With three more tries, one each from Barrett, Jerome Kaino and Waisake Naholo, the All Blacks ended the first half with a scoreline of 32-3.

Dane Coles and Julian Savea extended the All Blacks' dominance in the second half scoring tries in the 55th and 58th minute respectively, while scrum-half replacement Nick Phipps added a consolation try for Australia at the closing stage.

The 42-8 victory also ensured the All Blacks continue to hold the Bledisloe Cup for another year.
