Crusaders have bounced back from their defeat to Highlanders after a convincing 29-10 victory over Waratahs in their Super Rugby encounter which has taken them to the top of the Australasian group.

The points continued to flow for the Crusaders as Johnny McNicholl (2'), Israel Dagg (8') and Richie Mo'unga (34') scored the tries in the first-half.

Even though Rob Horne (25) opened the account for Waratahs with a try, the Crusaders were leading 22-5 at half-time.

After a quiet 20 minutes in the second half, Jordan Taufua (61’) scored the fourth try for Crusaders with Mo'unga adding the extras. Replacement wing Zac Guildford played spoilsport for Crusaders as his try in the 65th minute denied Crusaders the bonus point.

The 29-10 victory allowed Crusaders to claim the top position in the New Zealand group with Chiefs and Highlanders breathing down their neck with 37 points each.
