Crusaders will miss the services of flanker Jordan Taufua for the Super Rugby final against Lions next weekend in Christchurch following a broken arm.

The 26-year-old sustained the blow in the 19th minute of the semi-final clash against Hurricanes on Saturday that Crusaders won 30-12 and was forced off the field.

Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson confirmed the news on Taufua in the post-match conference with the 6 ft 2 in flanker now expected to go under the knife.

Taufua went to the social media platform Instagram to express his disappointment on missing the final game against Lions.

"Unfortunately for me that's my season on the field done," he wrote.

Pretty gutted to not be able to run out with my brothers for the final but will be a loud and proud supporter off it!! One more to go."

Crusaders have won the most Super Rugby titles in the tournament's history and Saturday's game will give them an opportunity to extend their tally to nine.
