Christian Wade looks ahead to Champions Cup opener

Ahead of his side's European Champions Cup opener against Leinster, Wasps and England winger Christian Wade looks ahead to the clash and other challenges ahead for him and his team.

Wasps, who beat Stade Francais to qualify for the new Champions Cup competition, travel to Leinster on Sunday.

For Wade, however, his focus has this season been on getting back to his best after a nine-month spell out of the game due to injury.

And while he is aware that this match might be his last chance to impress the England management as they look to announce their Elite Performance Squad (EPS), he knows he has to work hard for Wasps.

In this interview, courtesy of Nick Heath, he admits he feels a little "rusty" at this stage of the season and that he has to compete for his place at Wasps, let alone in the England set-up.

Looking ahead to Sunday's Champions Cup clash at the RDS Arena, he says he has fond memories of a previous Amlin Challenge Cup clas between the two sides.

He also looks forward to catching up with Rob Kearney, Sean O'Brien and Jamie Heaslip, who were British & Irish Lions team-mats of his in 2013.
