Scorecard

Chiefs came up with a six-try performance as they completed a 41-28 bonus point victory over Bulls in their Super Rugby face-off at FMG Stadium Waikato on Friday.

This is Chiefs' second win of the season as they move to fourth position in New Zealand Conference while Bulls are at third in South African group despite their third consecutive defeat.

Fullback Warrick Gelant scored the opening try in the second minute but his efforts were negated by Jonathan Faauli six minutes later as the scores remained levelled 7-7 at the end of the first 10 minutes.

Bulls stepped up the ante through Divan Rossouw, who scored back to back tries in the 15th and 22nd minutes as Bulls claimed a 14-point lead but as half-time was approaching, Brodie Retallick scored the first of his two tries in the 35th minute but only for Handre Pollard to respond with a touchdown.

Start the second half with 14 points behind, Chiefs had some respite with tries from Mitchell Brown (42') and Retallick (55') and fullback Damian McKenzie slotted a conversion and a penalty to take the scoreline to 29-28.

Their momentum was aided by a sin-bin to Bulls replacement Conraad Van Vuuren and further tries from winger Solomona Alaimalo and centre Anton Lienert-Brown in the final 10 minutes saw Chiefs complete a 13 point victory.
