Cheetahs have ended their three-match losing streak after a hard fought victory over Kings in the Super Rugby encounter at the Toyota Stadium.

The result also means Kings, who are placed bottom in the table are yet to record a win against a South African opposition. Cheetahs, who were leading their opposition by 11 points at the half-time managed to win the game 34-20.

Raymond Rhul (23), Uzair Cassiem (27), Michael van der Spuy (44), Sergeal Petersen (55) were among the try scorers for Cheetahs while fly-half Fred Zeilinga contributed with 14 points.

Even though Kings were always behind in the game, tries from JP Du Plessis (49) and Lukhanyo Am (71) along with contributions from Elgar Watts and Louis Fouche helped them reduce the margin.

Despite the result, Cheetahs continue to remain third in Africa 1 group while Kings are in bottom in the Africa 2 group.
