Cardiff Blues formulated an astonishing second-half resurgence to outclass Edinburgh 21-17 at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday.

This defeat ended Endinburgh's bid to grab a top-six place finish in this season’s Pro12 and a spot in the next year's European Champions Cup.

Tries by Hamish Watson (16'), Matt Scott (20'), Tom Brown (39') along with a conversion by Jason Tovey (20') had given the home team a 10 points advantage by the half-time. Although Reynold Lee-Lo's (31') try followed by Gareth Anscombe's (32') conversion managed to do a little damage control for Cardiff.

Edinburgh failed to defend the half-time advantage as the Blues construed an astonishing counterattack. Cameron Dolan's try in the 63rd minute followed by Anscombe's (64') conversion reduced the deficit to mere five points.

Centre Garyn Smith's try on the 66th minute followed by another successful conversion by Anscombe's (68') put Blues in the driver’s seat with a four-point advantage in the bag.

Edinburgh couldn't recover from the Blues onslaught as the visitors survived the final 14 minutes to cruise home safely.

The win has helped Blues to climb up two places to secure a 7th position finish in the standings with 56 points from 22 matches.
