Southern Kings 12 - 45 Cardiff Blues

Cardiff Blues managed to seal a Champions Cup qualification berth following their comfortable 12-45 win over Southern Kings in their Pro 14 clash.

The Blues are positioned fourth in Conference A with 53 points while Southern Kings languish at the bottom following their 19th defeat in their inaugural season from 20 games.

The Blues got off to a terrific start with Alex Cuthbert (2') and Seb Davies (7') scoring tries in the first 10 minutes while fly-half Jarrod Evans kicked the conversions on either occasion to take them to a 14 point lead.

There was no respite for the home side as Cardiff Blues went on to claim the bonus point by the 31st minute with further tries from lock Josh Turnbull (25') and centre Willis Halaholo (32'). Kings' captain Schalk Ferreira was sin-binned in the 37th minute as
Kirby Myhill scored Blues' fifth try in the first half a minute later as the teams headed into the break with a 0-33 lead.

The scoreline became 0-40 with winger Blaine Scully touching two minutes after the restart and once again Evans was spot on with the conversion.

The response from the South African side finally came in the 48th minute with a touchdown from Ntabeni Dukisa but his efforts were negated by a second from Myhill in the 55th minute to take the scoreline to 7-45. The final quarter saw Kings replacement Lindokuhle Welemu being the only points scorer with a 68th minute try but Cardiff Blues went on to complete a comfortable 12-45 win.
